Odell Beckham Jr. Still Owns Top-Selling Jersey
NFLShop has released the latest iteration of the 25 top selling jerseys list and a familiar face is entrenched at the summit. New York Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. was the top selling jersey from the period of September 1 through September 15, 2016, which included the end of the preseason and the opening slate of Week 1 games.
Colin Kaepernick has captivated fans and comes in second, ranking as the top jersey in seven states, the second highest state total of any player. He’s also the highest selling QB, just beating the always-strong Tom Brady, who comes in third.
Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio Brown is fourth, although the best selling jersey in Pennsylvania belongs to the fifth ranked player overall, Philadelphia Eagles rookie QB Carson Wentz — it’s Wentzylvania for Eagles fans so far this season.
The dominant Von Miller comes in sixth, and is the leading jersey in a whopping nine states that virtually form an X with Colorado at the center — from Iowa to Nevada and from Montana to New Mexico.
Seattle QB Russell Wilson comes in seventh, rookie Dallas RB Ezekiel Elliott eighth, and New England TE Rob Gronkowski ninth. The Seattle Seahawks “12 Fan” jersey rounds out the top 10, the only jersey of its kind on the list.
The Dallas Cowboys are the best represented team with four players in the top 25. Usual suspects Dez Bryant and Jason Witten were joined by Elliott and fellow rookie Dak Prescott, who is one of two rookie QBs to make the cut along with Wentz. New England was the only team to see three players make the list in Brady, Gronk, and Julian Edelman.
Von Miller was the sixth best selling jersey but was one of only four defensive players to make the top 25, joined by linebackers Navorro Bowman (20), Khalil Mack (22), and Luke Kuechly (23), who beat out Panther teammate Cam Newton for the top selling jersey in both Carolinas.
